DrNC’s no BS solution to even skin tone!

“Having you treat my pigmentation has been a game-changer. You are 100% correct in saying that having a smooth, even skin tone on your face makes you look and feel amazing.”

Yes it’s true. Even skin tone is the single most effective thing you can achieve to look younger and healthier. It is visually more powerful than getting rid of wrinkles!!!

Now summer has ended it is the perfect time to focus on getting rid of the pigmentation activation that occurs in these warmer months.

What we use at home is just as important as in-clinic treatments.

HOW MY DrNC PIGMENTATION-FIGHTING FAVOURITES HELP YOUR PIGMENTATION

STEP 1: PREVENT WITH SPF

My Concentrated CC+ SPF 30 is a lightweight, chemical-free, UVA/UVB physical blocker (containing zinc + titanium dioxide) mixed with a colour-correcting tint that will have you feeling confident without makeup, all day long. Plus, it’s boosted with 5% niacinamide/vitamin B3 to stop pigment production at the enzyme level. What's more, it DOES NOT FEEL like SPF sunscreen!

STEP 2: PREVENT AND REPAIR

When it comes to over-the-counter, science-backed skincare ingredients that block pigment production, you CANNOT go past niacinamide/vitamin B3 and Vitamin C. We make it easy and put both in the one serum for you! My cult favourite Concentrated Illuminator serum features 10% niacinamide/vitamin B3 alongside 10% vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and peptides, helping to block the production and spread of pigmentation in your skin.

STEP 3: REMOVE AND EXFOLIATE

My Concentrated Clarifier serum contains the perfect blend of AHAs (lactic, glycolic, mandelic and tartaric acids), with the BHA salicylic acid. It’s not called the “bomb” for nothing! These acids lift and remove stained pigment cells , dissolving existing pigmentation and sun spots, whilst encouraging cell renewal to give you skin like back when you were 25!

Add in the weekly Concentrated Micropeel to push out those stained pigment cells out and build collagen at the same. YES long term use of these superstar ingredients DO MAKE COLLAGEN HYALURONIC ACID AND ELASTIN. See reference study

If you want to address sun damage on your chest, these little sachets contain more than 3ml of AHA BHA self care love, so there is enough to go around!!! At approx $8 per treatment this is definitely more bang for your buck.

STEP 4: Bring out the machines : BBL / IPL / Erbium/ Q switched YAG /Lase MD

For next level results you may need a visit to the clinic for a treatment. My go tos are the Sciton BBL and the solari IPL. These are ideal for sun spots, sun pigment and freckles. They also give you collagen a rectivating boost by awakening your fibroblast and a total skin glow. For more stubborn lesions we may use erbium spot treatment or our q switched Yag laser over the top.

STEP 5 : Add in a compound prescription : Hydroquinone / Kojic Acid DrNC favorite

If you have melasma, it’s a lot more tricky and some lasers can make it worse. I’m a strong advocate of adding in a prescription of hydroquinone + kojic acid  to use at night after the Concentrated Hydration cream. These are the gold standard of pigmentation enzyme blockers to further enhance the pigment fading effect of the DrNC routine.

We also have Dermamalan in clinic that works on difficult melasma. Ideal post summer.

A MESSAGE FROM DR NATASHA COOK

“Pigmentation is one of the most common skin concerns clients come to me to fix - and it’s also one of the toughest conditions to treat, which is why it’s so rewarding to receive feedback like this from my clients when their pigmentation does ease up.

“My 15 years in-clinic experience has proven that when implemented together, these steps are the key to stopping pigmentation in its tracks, with the inclusion of clinical concentrations of the right ingredients in the right combinations, for gorgeously glowing, radiant skin.”
